About Us
Hi, I'm Perrin Slowey, owner/designer of Pink Evita. I never thought I would aspire to own my own business. I thought I might just be a cog in a big corporate wheel when I grew up. And I was, for several years after graduating from college. It was a good learning experience. Pssst, that means not too much fun.
In 2002 my husband and I traveled to China to adopt our first daughter, Ava. Since I wasn't very good at balancing an adorable baby on one hip and a corporage career on the other...I cashed in the big job for the glamorous life of changing diapers and washing dishes. Because we are gluttons for chaos surrounded by little people less than 48" tall, we went back to China to meet our second daughter, Olivia in 2006.
Soon after the jet lag wore off and children began sleeping through the night, I dusted off a 35 year old sewing machine. I found bliss. In a fabric store of all places. Quickly there was a need for more fabric, more color, more creativity.
This handbag and accessories business was born in a girlfriend network. The very first bags were made as gifts for teachers, who by the way, deserved so much more than a tote bag. Friends and neighbors saw the bags and asked for more. It has been through this ever-growing sisterhood that Pink Evita has evolved into a dynamic business centered around making each and every client feel like they have walked away with an original and whimsical accessory that brings love and happiness. Oh yes, and I don't have to work a corporate gig anymore.
